Homo ludens is a site-spesific performance that was premiering at Steilene – an island in the Oslo-fjords in 2017, and played also at a boat association at Inderøy as a part of Kortreist Dansefestival 2019.
Homo ludens is an excursion and performance entwined. Homo ludens means the playful human being, and the performance is invented out of the fact that Homo ludens is an endangered species.
The audience is invited to the Ludian empire to become familiar with the species of Homo ludens. Here the audience can frolic themselves in activities that strengthen their Homo-ludensian being, get a boat trip in Ludian waters and take part in a real Ludian dinner party. Through the stay our intention is that the audience will strengthen the Homo-ludensian in themselves, and that in this way the energy will be spread to humanity.
