In «Artistic profit» (Kunstnerisk avkastning) Maja Roel presents a bunch of small pieces, represented as candidates in a competition – where the goal is to achieve the highest artistic profit. By competitive tendering her own art, Roel explores how a marked liberalistic mindset can influence the art. «Artistic profit» is a scenic attempt to test methods for measuring the value of a performing arts experience. In collaboration with the audience, a special control committee announces a winner of the competition. The candidate who has achieved the highest artistic profit is rewarded with being the base of Maja Roel’s next performing arts production.
